Care at home

Why dogs do so well with care at home

Some dogs travel just fine. Others would rather stay right where they are. For the homebodies, a caregiver visiting at home keeps them comfortable while you're away. Here's why families love it.

They stay home.

Their own bed. Their own yard. Their own smells. The most comfortable place a dog can be while you are away.

Their routine doesn't change.

Same feeding time, same walk, same nap spot. Dogs do better when the day looks exactly like it always does. A visit from an MCC caregiver keeps that intact.

No stressful drop-off.

You don't have to load an anxious dog into the car and drive them anywhere. The care comes to them. They barely know you left.

One caregiver, one dog.

Your caregiver is there for your dog, with real one-on-one time and full attention the whole visit.

A photo every visit.

You get a picture and a short note each time a caregiver visits. So you can actually see they're happy while you're away, not just hope they are.

Meds and routines, handled.

If your dog takes medication or has their own particular way of doing things, just tell us. Your caregiver follows it exactly.

Jon at the Minnesota Canine Club location in New Ulm.

Jon started Minnesota Canine Club because of his own dogs, Jack and Rip. What began as personal love for animals turned into a real business built around that same care.

He personally cares for every dog client. That is not a talking point. Jon is on the visits, building the routines, learning each dog's quirks. He strives to give the best quality care to his dog clients and their humans.

“It is so rewarding to be doing what I love and helping other families along the way.”

Where it started

Built on the love of Jack, Rip, and every dog in between.

Jack and Rip were Jon's dogs. They were the reason Minnesota Canine Club exists. The way he cared for them, that same devotion, is the standard every MCC caregiver is held to.

When you trust MCC with your dog, you are trusting a service built on real love for real dogs. That is what Jack and Rip made possible.

Common questions

Everything you're probably wondering.

How is MCC At-Home Services different from a boarding facility?

Your dog never leaves home. A caregiver comes to your house, feeds them, spends real time with them, and leaves a report. Your dog sleeps in their own bed and eats from their own bowl, in a place they already know. That matters for a lot of dogs, especially ones who stress in new places.

What actually happens during a visit?

Your caregiver arrives, checks in with GPS so you know they are there, and follows your dog's routine: feeding, fresh water, and real playtime. If you added a walk, they take your dog on a neighborhood loop and log the route. Before they leave, they send you a photo and a short note on how things went. Every time.

How do I book, and can I set up regular visits?

Start on the Book care page. You fill out a short form about your dog and your schedule. We match you with a caregiver, and you can book a one-time visit, a recurring daily schedule, or a full trip block while you are traveling. If your plans change, just let us know.

How will I know the visit actually happened?

Every caregiver checks in with GPS when they arrive. They work through a care checklist, take a photo of your dog, and send you a report when the visit closes. You get a notification each time. No guessing.

Who are the caregivers? Can I choose?

Jon, the owner of Minnesota Canine Club, personally oversees every caregiver on the platform. He screens applicants, trains them on MCC's care standards, and stays hands-on. When we match you with a caregiver, it's someone who knows your neighborhood and has been vetted by Jon. After a visit you can rate your caregiver, and we use that to keep the team strong.

What areas do you serve?

We are based in New Ulm, MN and serve the surrounding area. If you are not sure whether we come to your address, call us at (507) 340-1400 and we will tell you straight.

Do you offer add-ons like walks or medication?

Walks are available as an add-on to any visit. If your dog needs medication given during a visit, let us know on your dog's profile and we will make sure your caregiver is prepared. Just be specific about dosage and timing and we will follow it.

What does it cost and how do I pay?

Pricing depends on visit type and any add-ons. You will see the exact cost before you confirm a booking. Payment is handled through the platform after each visit closes. No cash, no awkwardness.

My dog is shy or has specific routines. Will that be a problem?

Not at all. Most dogs have quirks. When you book, you tell us everything: feeding schedule, favorite toys, how your dog greets strangers, whether they need a slow introduction. Your caregiver reads all of it before showing up. The goal is for your dog to feel like someone who knows them walked in, not a stranger.

How do I become a caregiver?

Head to the Join as a caregiver page and fill out the short application. Jon reviews every application personally. If it looks like a good fit, he will reach out to get you started.
